Project Highlights
- This time we had the project of developing a comprehensive kids tracker solution by incorporating features like real-time tracking, safe zone alerts, panic buttons, care group facilities, and health records like heart rate and blood oxygen.
- The aim of the project was to develop smart wearable kids tracking devices for the safety and protection of kids in various settings.
- We included a GPS module, microprocessor, wireless communication modules, heart rate sensors, and blood oxygen monitoring sensors. The microcontroller analyses the information collected by the GPS module and sensors. This platform can be accessed via a kids tracking app, allowing guardians to track the whereabouts of children in real time.
- This IoT-based kids tracking system includes a smart wristband and a mobile app. We developed a complete comprehensive solution where the guardian can also create predetermined safe zones and get alerts if the child enters or exists.
About the Project
The client wanted to develop a child locator and child tracker product. There are already various child safety products available on the market, but the client’s idea was to leverage smart technology that will improve the safety and well-being of children.
Their motive is to offer parents peace of mind by providing a comprehensive tracking system to monitor their children’s whereabouts and safety in real time.

Challenges
Losing track of their child is always a fear that parents face. The client wants to solve this issue by launching a product that comes with GPS trackers and offers parents a tech solution so that they can track their child’s whereabouts as well as set up a safe zone for their children.
Moreover, from the development point of view, we had to ensure precise and continuous real-time tracking even in areas with poor networks.
Also, we have to come up with a device prototype that is sleek, and lightweight, and children can wear them without any discomfort.
Our Innovative Solution
To address these challenges, we designed and developed a comprehensive kids tracker system that consists of three parts- a wearable device for the child to be tracked, a server for the service provider where the data will be stored, and a mobile app for the parents to track their child.
Our team developed the wearable device with a GPS unit and several sensors like a SpO2, heart rate sensor, and an accelerometer for heart rate monitoring, pulse rate monitoring, and fall detection.
On the other side, the server is uploaded with a database that holds detailed information about children, their health, location, and parents.
We developed a smart kids’ tracker system that helps parents visualize and track the location of their children without any risk.

Real-Time Tracking
We were able to provide precise real-time tracking of the child’s location by utilizing GPS. The system updates the location on the map continuously, ensuring parents are always aware of their child’s whereabouts.

Safe Zone Alerts (Geofence)
We integrated a geofencing feature that allows parents to set safe zones, such as homes, schools, or playgrounds. If the child enters or exits these designated areas, parents are immediately notified.

Panic Button (SOS)
The GPS tracker device includes a panic button that the child can press in emergencies. This triggers an immediate alert to the parent’s smartphone, showing the child’s current location and allowing for swift action.

Tiny GPS Tracker Device
We developed a compact, lightweight, and durable GPS tracker designed to be worn comfortably by children.

Care Group Facility
This feature allows parents to add multiple caregivers (e.g., family members, and babysitters) to the system. Caregivers can receive alerts and track the child’s location, ensuring a comprehensive support network.

Health Records
Integration of health records allows parents to store and access important health information, such as allergies, medications, and medical history, directly through the tracking system.
Result
PsiBorg Technologies designed a smart kids tracker device that meets the client’s needs.
The kids tracker solution included a smart wearable device, a mobile app, and an admin panel.
Implementing the kids tracking device was highly successful, leading to benefits like:
